Overview

Choose the configuration around your production task.

JY-08G provides a movable-tailstock arrangement for supported long parts, JY-09 uses a horizontal rotary platform, and JY-15 uses a C-type turnover structure. These are different fixture and loading decisions, not interchangeable load ratings. Compare support spacing, loading height and required part orientation before requesting a welding positioner quotation.

Choose a welding positioner by the orientation the torch needs at each joint, then calculate the workpiece, fixture, clamps and adaptors as one rotating assembly. The load figure alone cannot resolve an offset center of gravity, a long overhang or a clamp that crosses the robot path. Start with the largest assembly and the most restrictive weld, including how the finished part leaves the fixture. For a headstock-tailstock arrangement, record support spacing and the locating method at both ends. For a tilt-rotate unit, check the complete swept envelope at every planned angle. Define indexed positioning and coordinated welding motion separately because their controller, feedback and commissioning requirements differ. A quotation should identify the drive package, controller interface, grounding route, fixture responsibility and acceptance checks rather than leaving these as assumed accessories.

SELECTION ROUTES

Which configuration fits the task?

01

Single-axis

Rotate a supported part when its joints are reachable without additional tilt.

02

Tilt and rotate

Add joint orientation while checking offset load and swept clearance.

03

Multiple stations

Separate load/unload and welding only after the whole cycle and safeguards are defined.

Selection brief

Loaded mass, center of gravity and overhang · Fixture datums, clamping and unloading path · Indexed or coordinated axes; controller revision

Commercial fitCompare the equipment-only and integrated-cell scopes line by line. Ask whether the drive/control package, tooling, mounting, cables, utilities, guarding, programming, freight, installation and training are included. A lower initial equipment price can represent a different scope rather than the same system at a lower cost. Define documentation languages, destination requirements, acceptance conditions, spare-parts responsibilities and the process for design changes in the proposal. This gives purchasing and engineering a common basis for selection.
Inputs that speed up a quotePrepare a drawing-led RFQ with revision, product family, required operation, operating sequence and existing equipment identifiers. Add the layout, utilities, environmental conditions and access limits. State who owns the fixture or end effector and who will verify each interface. Ask for the proposed configuration, inclusions, exclusions, technical documents, acceptance plan and site responsibilities in the response. This lets suppliers price the same task and makes unresolved choices visible before an order is placed.

FAQ

Questions before you request a quote

01How should I select JY Single-Axis Welding Positioners?

Compare the listed arrangements: JY-08G/ZX/500 / JY-08G/ZX/1000 / JY-08G/ZX/2000 / JY-09/200 / JY-09/500 / JY-09/1000 / JY-15/ZX/500 / JY-15/ZX/1000. Start with loaded mass, center of gravity and overhang, then define fixture datums, clamping and unloading path. Use the model table to shortlist equipment and the project drawing to decide the final configuration. A family name alone does not define the supplied package.

02Does rated load include the fixture?

Size the moving assembly with the fixture, workpiece, clamps and adaptors. Ask for the allowable center-of-gravity offset, torque and inertia for the chosen configuration. A load label is not enough to approve an eccentric assembly or establish the permitted welding motion.

03What determines the equipment quotation?

A single axis welding positioner quotation depends on the selected model or arrangement, tooling, control package, services, safeguards, testing and delivery scope. Separate equipment-only supply from complete-cell integration. Confirm quantity, destination, documentation, packaging and site work in the written proposal; prices and availability are not inferred from catalog values.

04Can the quotation include integration and commissioning?

The proposal can define equipment sourcing and partner-supported integration as separate work packages. Specify mechanical and electrical installation, software, commissioning, training, FAT/SAT, spares and service ownership. Existing robot/controller versions and site utilities must be identified before an interface or installation commitment is agreed.

05What should I send to request a project proposal?

Send loaded mass, center of gravity and overhang; fixture datums, clamping and unloading path; indexed or coordinated axes; controller revision. Add drawings, quantity, destination and the acceptance method. Identify existing equipment by model, nameplate and software revision. These inputs allow the technical proposal, interfaces and commercial exclusions to be discussed together.
